When we speak of "men's problems" what we are referring to are problems that are peculiar to men, i.e. sexual problems, and these can have either a physical or psychological cause. Even in this enlightened age many chaps may be shy about asking their doctor about such problems so this article is intended to bring some light to bear on the subject, and how sometimes drugs can help prevent mens problems The main types of sexual problems that men can have are impotence (or erectile dysfunction), and premature ejaculation.
Many if not most men have experienced the odd time when they could not get an adequate erection, and this might be psychological such as the fear of underperforming or just not being aroused, or could be physical due to say, too much alcohol or just sheer exhaustion.
If one experiences erectile dysfunction on a continuing basis though, it is wise to seek medical advice as there may be an underlying health problem. A common cause in the older man is narrowing of the small arteries in the penis due to atherosclerosis, i.e. fatty deposits that adhere to the lining of the arteries. This prevents sufficient blood reaching the penis to cause the engorgement that is necessary for an erection. Atherosclerosis is a potentially serious condition because it can also affect arteries supplying the heart, causing a heart attack, or arteries to the brain, causing a stroke. (more...)
